Dr. Joyce Ojemudia

Dr. Joyce Ojemudia is a distinguished insurance executive and resourceful business leader with over two decades of experience in insurance sales, business development, claims administration, risk management, and reinsurance. Her career began at Healthcare International and quickly advanced through key leadership roles at Linkage Assurance PLC and STACO Insurance PLC, where she rose to the rank of Assistant Director. In 2020, amid a challenging economic climate, she was appointed Managing Director/CEO of African Alliance Insurance PLC, where she led the company through critical transformation—resolving legacy issues, boosting investment and technology integration, and improving solvency margins and cost management until her exit in 2024.

An alumna of the University of Lagos and the Lagos Business School (SMP 40), Dr. Ojemudia also holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship from Joseph Ayo Babalola University. She is a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria and an Associate of both the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and the Institute of Chartered Economists. Beyond her executive roles, she has served on several industry committees and boards, including SOPRAY Property Ltd, Sapphire Virtual Network Ltd, and Flawless Insurance Brokers Ltd. She currently chairs SOPRAY Property Ltd, bringing strategic vision and deep industry insight to the real estate space.

Dr. Ojemudia is widely recognised for her leadership and service. She served as president of the Professional Insurance Ladies Association (PILA) from 2020 to 2022, where she spearheaded landmark initiatives such as PILA’s first Africa-wide AIO conference event and expansion across Nigeria. She has received numerous accolades including the Insurance Personality of the Year (2023), Top 100 Ladies in Africa by AIWA, and Queen Amina Heroine Award by UN POLAC. Through the Joyce Ojemudia Foundation, she has also dedicated herself to supporting families facing infertility, reflecting her passion for social impact alongside professional excellence.
