Shola Ola John

Dr. (Mrs.) Esther Adeshola Ola-John is the Group Managing Director of SOJ Group of Companies, comprising SOJ Group (an IT firm), SOJ Risk Consult Ltd (a consultancy firm), and SOJ Insurance Brokers Ltd. Under her visionary leadership, these firms have continued to thrive despite the infrastructural challenges in Nigeria. A dynamic and versatile insurance professional with over 45 years of experience, she is celebrated for her groundbreaking work in insurance, risk management, and business development.

Dr. Ola-John began her distinguished career at Great Nigeria Insurance in 1985 and later joined LASACO Assurance, where she served for 27 years in various senior capacities. Notably, she initiated the Lagos State Global Insurance Policy for the state workforce and oversaw the insurance of government ministries, agencies, and local councils. Her leadership contributed significantly to LASACO’s recapitalization and growth, earning her multiple recognitions including several Best Marketer of the Year awards. A natural leader and results-driven strategist, she is widely known for her ability to build successful teams and drive operational excellence.

She holds a degree in Insurance and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (London) and the CIIN. She is also a Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loan & Risk Management of Nigeria, a Doctoral Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Risk Management (London), and a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Economists of Nigeria and the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria. A Lagos Business School alumna and passionate Christian, she serves as a Deaconess in TREM, actively participating in women’s ministry and leadership roles. She is well-traveled, widely trained, and deeply committed to mentoring, service, and nation-building. Dr. Ola-John is happily married and blessed with children and grandchildren.
